FYP is coming to an end in 6 days time. 7th april !!!! thesis submission date and my thesis is finally reaching the 57th pg mark. max pages is 100 though but i dun think i wanna cough out so much crap. lol.

Looking back, it's amusing cos i wrote a lil here and there about my

feelings, events on my lab protocols, research papers.. so they contain snippets of my fyp memories, my lil diaries (:

I would only say throughtout my stay in my lab, I truly felt the Lord's presence with me. His bountiful grace and mercy has enabled me to progress thus far

and sometimes, looking back, I couldn imagine myself doing all that. def not by my strength but by HIS (: I am so thankful to the Lord, cos I prayed for an fyp project that I will like but He gave me MORE. he gave me a project which I fell in love with, "like" is understatement.

it's so meaningful! cos my work could be a alternative therapy to treat damaged blood vessels and we are gg to publish it to a good sci journal. YAY! our hard work !

The Lord knows prob I like to deal with visual stuff, so most of expt require me to take intricate pictures of cells rainbow-coloured stained by me, haha and i get to see how blood vessels look like. they look exactly like tree branches, exactly. they are so pretty, i tell you.

now whenever i see trees, i think of blood vessels immediately.lol.

More blessings from God like how I get to go to universals studios for free, get to participate in decorating and preparing the microbio fairytale party, get to have lovely gatherings to my prof's place and I have the BEST MENTOR in the world. we are so close, we are almost like buddies. I am really so blessed (: Thank God for blessing me so much.

Wrote so much here, is not to show off how fortuante I am but I just wanna share how blessed it is if you choose to walk in the will of God and the blessings that come in obediance to His word is uncountable. I hope my testimony can be encouraging to all. always seek God's will and wait for His answer.

and then when He reveals it to us, go for it and trust Him (: will be preparing a surprise for my prof next thurs after I submit the thesis. haha, she calls me her lil ms sunshine, lol.

guess i will spread some sunshine before I leave this lab , though with much much reluctance.

realised I didn't blog for quite some time,
hope this doesn't spell the closing down of my blog =/
cos seriously, time is a limiting factor ..

In any case, I have started on my fyp lab for a good 3 weeks.
thinking back, time really passes super fast eh.
Initially was jittery abt meeting new people, abt my mentor and prof
and to realise my worries were unfounded.

my mentor and prof are angels, really (:
even their name says so.
ANGELine and Prof ANGELi ..
hahah :D

getting to know some of my lab mates pretty well now,
most of them are at least 5-8 years older than me
so being the really youngest one in the lab gives
me a sense of being doted on (:

the dept I am under is super coool.
they have annual themed party on october,
so everyone has to dress up and decorate the hallway etc.
and my prof organizes regular lab outings and bdae celebrations too
so yea, my prof cooking authentic french dinner for us on 14th aug
at her condo...
she's from france so yea, i m looking fwd to french cusine :D

SO far, I have been familarizing myself with the lab techquies,
but one tech really is tough, for me maybe
but I have to master it very well and FAST cos it's one of
the core techniques for my fyp project.
and the lab pple call the machine a jinx
cos it invlves a razor shapr blade which almost everyone
who uses it will get cut =(
the worst cut involve 16 sitches ahhh..

i can't afford to be BLUR !
but its really mind draining doing that tech,
prob i'm not a very technical person so it's quite disheartening
when I realised how I still can't get the tech right :((

try try again !
I just have to persevere and take things slowly at a time.
but at least I have a nice photo to start for my fyp project.
my project involves multi colours and working in a dark and cold room.
but I'm really thankful to God cos the lab I am in is a really nice envt.

I udnerstood how God took control of everything after hearing
from my labmates their side of the story on recruiting potential
honours students.
My prof rejected two students cos they approached her at a time
when my mentor was too busy.
when i approached her, it was just nice.
the timing was right , so precise cos just when my mentor told
my prof she is ready to take in an honours stud, my email came in.

the Lord is watching over me :D

and the weirdest thing would be my lab is the lab in nus
that kills and handles the MOST number of rats but
yet I am in this lab despite my fear of rats.
somehow, my prof was fine with me not touching rats
and my labmates told me this is such an exception .
so it's a miracle and to me, it's the Lord's work at hand (:

don't know what to expect, how things would be like.
well, i know I just have to trust in the Lord,

As the weekend approaches monday,
I felt a tad heavy hearted.
cos monday will be the last lesson with
my tutee, kai xin, a girl whom I have taught her for 4 years.

her mum told me kaixin felt like crying when she knew
I would be leaving ...
oh man, those words made me felt so =/

cos of fyp commitments, I have to give up teaching her.
as for the other two tutees, I have to squeeze time for them
cos one of them will be taking the PSLE this year.
prob gg to teach after PSLE is over and I can
fully concentrate on fyp.

giving tuition is tiring, especially when the kids
make my blood boil.
lol.
but still, i love dem all the same ( :

most of my friends have already started on fyp,
familiarisng themseleves with lab,
facing setbacks and disappointments when expt fails,
facing very stern mentor,
and being very tired cos it's lab from morn till evening.

I will be starting my orientation in my lab on july 12th,
the real work prob will begin on july 20th when my prof
finally returns from her holiday.
as much as I really am uncomfortable disecting rats,
i might have to see it and deal a lil with it.
oh wells.

and on another note,
I just signed contract with Moe.
I'm a primary sch teacher to be ,
that is if i pass one year probation first.
being a teacher is so not easy now.
have to put on one year probation before they decide
if you are allowed to go nie.
so it takes 2 years to become a real full time teacher.

in a way, it could be good,
gives me one year to see if I am really suited to be one.
am I ?

for the next 1.5 weeks, i am as free as a bird.

not working cos abt to start on honours project in coming july.
better cherish ALL the freetime i have now before it's too late.

been occupying myself with meet-ups,indulging in pastimes,
spring cleaning home, clearing wardrobe etc.
yes. gg to do reading and cooking sooon ( :
loved my free days as they are, no plans for each day,
everything just decide on the spot regarding what to do.

hanged out with yl yest before heading down to attend church conferences.
we went into a shop selling wigs and the lady tried them on for us.
I tried on the curly long hair wig and the straight long hair wig.
I looked kinda different esp with the curly hair one.
i can't even recog myself !
well at least now I know i am suitable to spot really long hair.
straight one fits me best.

yl tried on a vava boom curly hair and a bob.
haha. wonder how she looks like in bob ??

ta- daaa.
like so different pls.

i was kinda tempted to buy a wig, cos can sport a different look.
and it's hassle free.
then again it's Expensive, Hot wearing one and seems very Vain.
HAHA, so yea, brushed off that thot and walked off.

i am currently having post sdyney withdrawal symptom.

somehow everything started out too recently and
ended too quickly.
I had difficulty orientating myself in walking down lanes
in singapore today..

i was so used to seeing signs like george street, darling harbour etc,
it felt a lil weird seeing street names like geylang,toa payoh.
though it's just a week spent in sdyney, but the countless walking
every single day made me accumstomed to roads and signs in sdyney.

simply love the architecture, the people, the pace of life.
somehow, i dun really like the cold weather, it's gets very
unbearable at times and as for the food there,
singapore is cheap and good.

wonton noodles cost $7.50 and a plate of fried rice costs $10.
and these are in AUSSie currency.
it's very expensive.
but the skyline and the backdrop of the harbour is simply breath-taking.
as i took in the sights of sdyney, everything blended in sync and
it was such a picturesque moment captured in its own beauty.

Whist waiting for temp mentor to be out from his lab,
I came here to steal some time to blog.
currently in my workdesk , with Santa beside me watching shows
and we are wondering whatever happen to Pig Li cos
he's not even here yet for work ....
wonder izzit cos of the drench we had during lunch or
must be his night out yest.. lol..

so while santa and I cont to count down for lunch break in 30 mins,
shall hurry finish up my ppt slides for presentation on friday
before I say goodbye to IBN (( :

will miss the place a lil, cos made so many good friends there.
Thank God for Santa who volunteered to help me in ppt slides
and always ensure I report to work everyday. lol.

then there's Pig Li who eats so much and I am super amazed by it.
and he never fails to tempt me with hk drama & starbucks when i'm doing work!
santa always say I'm " the pig calling the pig pig " -.-

of cos, my 7 lunch buddies whom I spent time with during breaks and
serve as guides during many IBN openhouses.
sucha a bunch of nice pple to be around with.

my luggage is still empty when I'm leaving in a few days time.
I'm hoping someone will pack for me.. haha..

and just to share, I will be doing honours ( :
Thank God for his guidance and His promises never fail.
I found the right project on the 11th hour, God showed it to me.

made me realise how impt it is to wait,
cos many may not like waiting.
the feeling of apprenhension, anxiety and hanging in mid air,
not knowing what is the end result.
not being able to see what is gg to happen.

many what ifs cloud my mind but I had to lean on God
and trust that I should not resent God's timing and
learn to wait upon Him, for His ans.

He answered my prayers and I am so so thankful for it.
and btw, I m posted to teach primary sch.
haha, feeling disappointed though I really prefer secondary sch.
oh wells, maybe shld try appealing.

in any case, i m looking forward to

research attachment at biopolis has been pretty fine so far.
it's been 2 weeks since I last started work and though I am NOT PAID
:(((
I still possess that atitude of wanting to learn so much from it.

2 more weeks left and my last day of work is next friday.
after which, I am FLYING OFFFF next sat (( :
super looking forward to it cos it's been FIVE YEARS
since I last board an aeroplane .
haha, so that feeling of gg anywhere outta singapore by plane
is overwhelming, so long as I can sit on a plane,
i'm a happy girl ( :

Mentor Dr Ke just told me last week that he's flying overseas today
so he left his ENTIRE PROJECT to me to do...
best.
was pretty worried initially cos I have no one to turn to,
i'm all alone by myself to work on his stuff.
but I know that since the Lord has allowed this task to fall on me,
He will see me thru.

so it's work today without my mentor,
did some expt today, was blur towards the end,
but got to just keep doing..
not sure if I'm doing is right, jitters cos
i dun wan mentor to faint when he's back though by the time
i am no longer working already, HAHA.

still i wanna do a good job so pls keep me in prayers.
it's a huge task/challenge doing it without anyone's guidance
esp when I am new to the job and never done such stuff before.
my friends all said I'm kinda unlucky but hey,
who knows, I might just rise to the occasion cos I have God ( :
hopefully when doing the results or getting yield from expts
will turn out right on fri or else i really dunno how am I
gg to present my findings to other profs before I leave.

anyway, a good news to share is thank the Lord,
I am accepted into NIE, so I am gg to be a teacher ( :
yay to childhood ambition fulfilled.
but not confirmed yet cos I have not seen the conditions to fulfil.
as for gradutaing this year or the next,
well , will have to make the choice by wed.

well if God closes the door for me doing honours,
at least he opened a window for me ( :

telling me if i should go on or just stop ?

maybe it's my fault for landing myself in such a dilemma.
my fear of handling and killing animals is the bane for all this.

killing them is just a bit too much for me to take.
I have projects offered to me but they all require me
to twist that rat tail, get their blood, cut them up =X
how to ?

i feel like crying, but it doesn't help so i swallowed back my tears.
very discouraged and disappointed with myself for being useless
cos I am not strong hearted enuff to kill animals.

maybe to some pple, they may think why do i feel so despondent ?
but the thing is you got to be in a situation, before understanding
how it really feels like to be stranded nowhere there.
how it feels like you really want to accomplish something
that is so challenging and when you are all ready to go for it,
setbacks after setbacks just makes me feel so sick of it,
my interest beginning to wane.

i still won't give up though. i still wanna try..
i dun believe i can't find a project that does not need me
to kill animals and bleed dem dry .

but this confidence is waning, i dunno how long i can take
the decision has to be made on 31may.
i m still looking to the lord cos it maybe his will for me to stop.

Life SCience PROM NITE for all bio undergrads was prettty good !
conrad hotel is very classy and the food is gooooooooooood (( :

one of the best part was 3 pple didn't turn up for our table
so that means we have extra 3 servings . HAHAHA =P
and besides that, we have indian food for our table too
cos the indian ladies for our table didn't turn up as well.

I thank the Lord for seeing me thru the 3 weeks of exam prep and exams.
in between which, I had to attend interviews held by IBN, biopolis.

wanted to gain research experience cos I have NONE.
haha, well, the fact is I dun like doing research but
the reality is I have to start gaining experience on that area
esp cos I m a life sci student and employers wld expect you
to be equipped in that area.

but more importantly, if I'm gg to do honours ,
gaining research experience at IBn would better prepare me
for the one year honours research project, FYP and
it would be a good exposure.
good training for me to be more independent too (( :

The Lord saw me thru the 2 interviews and by God's grace,
I got the internship at BIopolis.. woohoooo !
was very happy cos I thot I had a slim chance, given
the china scholars who went with me for the interview
have a cap score of almost 5 (full marks)..
and they were thinking if theirs were considered low -.-

so I will be starting internship on 17 may to 11 june,
after which the next day I will be flying off for one week .
a good break ( :

these 3 months aka 100 days of hols isn't gg to be the same
as the usual times.
these 3 months is either I am graduating or I m gg to spend
my remaining hols doing honours FYP.
and I m still pretty caught in between.

grad sounds great cos i dun have to spend one year doing
research projects which really isn't my forte
but then again, staying on to pursue honours is my mum's hope for me.

staying on another year would mean more time to be prepared
to face the outside working world.
but it's the task of finding the right honours project to work on.

I cannot disect animals, i cringe and get heavy hearted seeing them die.
and many projects do require that aspect.
really have to pray for God's will to show me
what path should i tread on ?
open a door to show me the right project which i can take on
if it's HIS will for me to carry on to the 4th year.

daddy prefered me to grad this year though,
cos he wants me to work so he can RETIRE !!!
lols.

anyway, aside this heavy issue,
I'm looking forward to this weekend's Life SCI Prom.
Dinner for year 1 to year 4, life sci undergrads at Conrad hotel.
the best thing is it's FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!

I have beeen so bzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzbzbz, i totally neglect this space.
wonder if anyone still reads and drops by here to see if i update?

it's been a very gruelling month, march was like, I always look
thru my organizer and wonder how did i get past thru it?
clearly, the Lord was there and has grant me so much Grace.

some of my close buddies wld probabaly known why I'm fretting now.
hopefully the ans will be out by this week.
will only publish here if everything is confirm.
though I felt incompetent, I trust that if it's God's will,
He will use me for His honour and glory.

tasted what it meant by kindness may not beget kindness.
realised the world is really so >.< but the Lord over rules as He protects His sheep ( :
understood from lessons learnt that I need to be
wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.
the serpent part need MORE brushing up!
I trust people easily, a romanticised view of human nature
which is often not necessarily the case.

3 years has past in NUS already,
the rapid fleeting passing of time eludes me.

I kinda like the setting at my home now.

in my lazy arm chair, with lappy against
the background of heavy rain which come pelting down,
hitting against my balcony.

talk abt lazy sunday afternoon.

it's the last day of my one week break
and it's back to school for another 10 weeks.

it's been a week of CNY vistations,
revsion for exam on coming tues,
went for seafood lunch at Johore Baru with galfrens
and seriously,i realise it's so much faster
gg to Msia than to town.
lols, it takes like 10 mins from the causeway to JB.
shioks !
Thank God esp for safe journey too.

and as always, visitations to granny's place
are always filled with nostalgia.
I would go into his room, sit at his bed,
and look around the room.
his photos all over his table,
it really seems as if he's still around.

i really miss that familiar touch of his hand
on my head,
and the way he greets me with that megawatt smile.
how he wishes to be at my convocation when I grad
but it's a wish that will never be fufilled.
we all miss him. we really do.

it's gonna be TUAN YUAN FAN in like 19 hours time !!!

as always , I love looking forward to that,
cos I am very close to my family and cousins
and the anticipation of coming tog and have dinner
at Ah Yee AiLian's place makes me very excited (( :

someone mentioned to me when I was young,
that when I grow older, I won't look forward anymore.
but thank GOD, till now, at the age of 21 gg to 22,
I still look forward . haha.

it makes me realise and cherish the time spent with family,
esp when two of my loved ones have passed away and
I'll never see dem again during CNY.

and not to mention, it's a one week HOLIDAAY for me next week.
sch decided to declare a one week off for us, pushing forward
the norm one week break in march to next week.
and so 2 holidays of ours get "eaten up", cos next
mon and tue are supposedly public hols too .

somehow, the hols seem to come too soon,
esp when sch just started for 3-4 weeks only
and it's another one week break.

but watever the case is, it's a very fun week for me tis wk,
esp for one of the very very very rare occassions,
I LOOK FORWARD TO PRACTICAL !!!

The last time i look fwd to prac was like 2 years ago,
haha, when we went to the zoo for biodiversity study.
and this time, prac was on FOOOOOOOOOOOOD !!!

cos I m studying how microbes/bacteria/fungi are being used
to make food like yoghurt, cheese , wine, tempeh.
and so our prof taught us a one hr of wine session,
he even taught us how to get drunk the elegant way and
how to choose nice wine. it was nice just hearing his jokes
and stories and then we had a chance to make our own food.

we had to dehull the soya beans and then add the
furry candy floss looking like fungi into the soya beans,
tie dem in banana leaves and 2 weeks later, we are gg to
eat our very home madde tempeh.

seriously, it seems weird making food in lab.haha
not sure if i dare to eat it, esp when i scrap the furry fungi
and place it into the soya beans.
after that, was yoghurt making session.

I had to scrape the yakult bacteria strains from their "home"
and put dem into milk.
it's quite a disgusting process, haha,
and prof mentioned that we could bring chili, tomata sauce
for our tempeh and bring apples/oranges for yoghurt next session.

but everyone was cringing, esp when we saw how the process was
involved in making those food, i wonder if anyone of us will eat it.

if only pracs can be as fun as this week's one.
if only.

struggling with report due on monday hence
haven been updating blog space =(

I never like staring into my lappy and type
and search for info non-stop.
it tires my eyes and makes me a very grouchy person.
i bite when i do reports, lols.

so i can't help to wonder how am i gg to get thru my
honours year, typing a 70-100 pg thesis next year
when a 5 pg report itself is boring me!

that's prob what i detest most abt fyp, reports writing!
and that's why I am thinking if i shld try for honours.
but many told me to go for it, they say it's not worth it
forsaking the chance to study another year even though I
really really dislike writing reports and staying in labs for
8-10 hours straight.
the test tubes and bacteria can't talk to me =/

lol, kidding for that part, just that I don't like to do
reptitive stuff and being stuck in lab for hours.
i perfer outdoors!

but on top of that, I'm glad my Lord always grant me
much guidance by directing me to the right webbie for info,
and even performing miracle right before my eyes even before
i could utter my prayers for His Guidance.

somehow, the Lord always give me great lab partners.

It seems quite a while since the last entry.
siginificant events that happened over the past weeks
include thnaksgiving day, jy's bdae picnic and visit
to the human anatomy lab.

shall start with human anatomy lab first.
woah, it looks like a mini body world exhibition which
was part of my practical lesson.
things got a bit emotional when I saw
babies from a few days old to a 9 month old
baby being kept in bottles .
they were being viewed as specimens due to the different
diseases which they suffered.

while many students were discussing which disease or
genetic defect the foetuses were suffering,
yilei and I were like "oh my, poor thing" ...
yuk lum said we don't sound like a bio student.

it 's a very sad thing seeing babies, esp formed babies
whoe could have been brought alive to earth if
only their eyes could formed properly. there was one
who was all properly formed except the face,
cos the baby only has one eye, one long silt (mouth) .
no more.
no ears, no nose.

others include a pair of twins, one formed and the other
poorly developed and cos twins tend to share the same placenta,
the properly formed died as well.

saw bottles of human heads, where the interior was shown.
not as scary as i expected cos it really looked alright to me,
esp when I was so intrigued by the amount of different kinds of
layers of tissue under the face.

well so that was lab.
and sat's thanksgiving day was held annually as all
the church youths come tog to give thanks to God and to many
who helped in 09 past events.

and I thank God everything went well and everyone enjoyed it.
hopefully, we'll grow closer to God and as well as towards one another.
had help along the way in preparing my gifts,
esp from sook kwin, ira,jon tan and joshua.
and of cos my very impt mummmy lim who helped me wrap presents!

and of cos, it was JingYang's bdae picnic held at
MARINA BARRAGE.
my first time there and whoah, i concluded it's NOT A GOOD
place for picnic cos the wind is TOO STRONG and we were
often hit by sotong, phoenix, snake and dragon kites.
lol, super huge kites which could aim at us while we were eating.

haha but it's a good place for kite flying and
the night scene is the bEST.
not so much of the city lights, but the sky.
cos at night, the whole dark lit sky was filled with
colouful kites which some emitted light.
a sight to behold !!

it was a "hair raising" sunday morning for me yesterday.
got up early for church and only to realise
my eyes looked DEFORMED .

was petrified cos my double eyelid swell up so badly,
it was almost touching my eyebrow.
and my left eye was left only a silt open due to the swelling.
so I have my normal big right eye on one side,
and a silt small eye on the left.
looked very comical in fact.

prob due to sat nite, when I felt my left eye was so itchy,
I just simply rubbed it and went back to sleep.
:(
and guess that's what greeted me first thing in the morning.

had no choice but to wear specs to church so that it's isn't obvious
and dad wanted me to stay at home but I declined cos had to
settle presents for youths thanksgiving day.
prayed that the swelling will reside and it won't spread
to the right eye so kept using ice to reduce swolleness.

Thank God, when I opened my eyes today,
it's back to normal with a slight swollen.
best friend commented I had triple eyelid on my left eye today!!

prob due to the dust that gathered cos my entire block's
gg thru renovation now and it can get pretty dusty.
hope that experience will just be for once and no more.
cos had a hard time looking at things yest too.

and yes, today's monday = loner day again.
will have to eat lunch Alone later before perfume lecture at 2pm.

it's been a tiring 3 days in school...

esp tues, cos from 6am to 6pm,
with no proper lunch, fatigue got the better of me.

hungry person is an angry person?
prob cos I kept doing the same technique 18 times during lab,
I felt so sian aft so many reptitions and was super hungry,
I lost my concentration and without knowing it,
I actually spilled the whole bacteria culture on my jeans.

Serratia Marcesens was the bacteria that got onto me,
it forms pink colonies too and cos I didn't bring extra
change of clothes, I was stuck wearing
the bacteria filled jeans for the entire day =/

I prayed hard that they are not pathogenic
n won't cause skin rash.
Thank God, it didn't !

putting aside that incident, the module on
perfumes and cosmetics was pretty interesting ( :
learnt a bit on perfumes n will b learning cosmetics today!
realised that Eygpt was one of the first few civilisations
which started perfumes and perfumes wasn't the spray and
smell good kind.

it was actually stored in small bundles of wax above the head
and when the sun's heat melt the wax,
perfumes in terms of oil will flow down from
head to entire body. seems pretty messy huh..

I got the chance of smelling diff perfumes samples too
and I prefer light scented ones ( :
more imptly so, perfume prof mentioned that the sense of smell
is often taken for granted.
only when we have flu, then we realise how impt smell is.

smells in fact evoke memories.
It is in fact a potent wizard that transports us
across thousands of miles and all the years we have lived.

certian odours would wraft us to our childhood days,
some odours remind us of people,
other odours, instantaneous and fleeting would cause
our heart to dilate joyously,
or contract with remembered grief.

we nv knew that it is sucha powerful tool
that it itself encapsulates how we link smells to our memories ( :

Youth Thanksgiving Day next sat.

and there will be loads and loads of wrapping, tying
and yep, typing and writing to be done cos wanna
do some stuff to the gifts to make dem more memorable.
guess will rope in my sisters too for help =P

i'm not a fan/user of perfumes but
hope it's interesting cos i " paid a price for it" :/

and just to end off, today's a seriously over sumptous day,
3 sumptous meals in one day..

and as well as dinner at fav zi char stall cos it's
family custom to have nice new year dinner
though it's belated.

countdown to the reopening of school : 5 DAYS TIME, 10am sharp.

seriously, i do miss sch. the food, haha, cos
nus has one of the cheapest and nicest food ard, and
the usual stall aunties/uncles that i patronise rmb me
and always gif me extra servings with NO extra charge, haha ( :

I ain't looking fwd to the 3 lab sessions a week...
but it's gg to be a 4 day work week for me this sem !

and there's so much i want to thank God for,
esp cos of my 3 4hr lab sessions, there are a lot of modules
which clashes with lab timings so was seriously at wits ends.
and just when I thot i may have to miss lectures cos of lab,
i just received an email which states there'll be a
change of timing for my labs, so the module which I wanted
to take initially no longer clashes with my 4 hrs lab anymore ( :
reallllly thank God for His Goodness !

and thank God for granting me recovery cos I finally
recoverd from the very bad flu and cough after 9 days.
so I am back to my jogging regime
and i am so gonna miss it when sch starts :/

and weekly sat's bible study group is getting bigger.

it's a very nice feeling, seeing everyone coming tog,
learning and growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord !
and i hope we'll cont to grow stronger as we encourage one another.

it's the last day of the year 2009,
seriously, tml gonna be 2010 and taking one big step back,
it seems like not too long ago, many were raving abt the
new millenium, abt the year 2000 and now, a decade has passed.
i vaugely rmb i was 12 years old then and 10 years
just passed by , with so many memories and lessons learnt.

I spent the last week of 2009 at home, in bed cos
I was pretty sick, even till now.
saw the doc 2 days ago and my flu still's pretty bad.

all i knew was I am still feeling very weak and
not much medicine was presribed to me cos doc wanna
let my immune system do the job of killing the flu bug.
praying tat my white blood cells will win,
and the battle be over soon!
the feeling of not being able to breathe properly is horrid =/

i spent some time, thinking abt the year 2009,
what happened , events that took place in my life
and how i responded to them.
I realised the most impt thing is to
ponder my life story with God in 2009.
Did I glorify Him, or did anything that displease HIm ?
or when my life story is being played in front of me onw day,
will I be ashamed of anything ?

I guess one of the happiest things that happened over 09
was the step I took to be baptised , my 21st with my loved ones.
it wasn't the party and the attention that I was happiest abt,
but it's seeing how much work and prep my loved ones did for me
that made me felt so cherished. it's all the behind the scenes work,
the different ppl who helped decorate,cooked and effort put in
to make it memorable.

I rmb during that week, I was very upset over some stuff.
brother called and encouraged me in the word of the Lord,
and that is something I am most grateful and thankful for.
and of cos, my close buddies' encouragements and hug ( :
it was not an easy feat, even now,
but I prayed I will continue to do it in the way
that my Lord will be pleased ( :

likewise, i rmb some left the church
and I am very thankful that I still receive
their email on weekly bible study which they will send ( :
their labour of love and their concern for us
was never be wavered.

for the coming new year, I really hope,
by God's grace, that my life story in 2010 will be
pleasing in His sight. it's prob not gg to be easy
but it's not impossible to achieve.

and likewise, I prayed that my close buddies will believe
in my Lord and that may the new year be a year that we
challenge ourselves to walk in the Lord's will
as we grow tog in His Grace.

and christmas marks the beginning of the yearend and
though it's often remembered as the season of christmas prez and feasts,
the real meaning behind it is often forgotten,
that it marks the remembrance of the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ,
where our Lord had to be clothed not in the finest of things and
to die for sinners in order that we can come to God.
that the righteous one died for the unrighteous.

that christmas demonstrates the measureless depth of God's love
and how we are so unworthy to receive this boundless gift.
that we may get to heaven and be with GOd.

christmas was also a time spent with my loved ones.
met up with Hl on christmas eve
and I enjoyed the time spent ( :

that was followed by family gathering at my place on 24th dec!
we had steamboat and bbq for dinner, lol and it
resembled so much like a reunion dinner ( :

and this is my youngest niece, Leong Sherzyn..
I played her fav aeroplane game with her and she was in all SMIles :D

all together now !

25th DEc Morn ..
woke up very early for christmas service and
yep, had to report one hour earlier cos had to do
warm ups for choir performance !

proceeded to Jon's place in the evening for christmas gathering !
woah, huge spread of food ( :

and while some entertained by playing cards,

the rest entertained by playing wii =P

we tried the expert mode and whoah, it was super FAst.

then ethan challenged ivan to try to dethrone him
cos we crowned ivan king that day. ahah.
he was really good !

Prisc and sheryl tried their hands on manuvoering some
ski reindeer race and it was hilarious.
cos by accident,we told dem the wrong stuff, lol.
and i actually lost my voice while cheering for prisc.

there was sharing by Ethan and thereafter dinner.
and followed by more wii and card games and more photo-taking.

and we asked Jon, the host to ursup Ivan, aha,
and it was a close fight.

in the end, judging from the pictures,
ivan still won ! lol.

and we had a really good time of fellowship,
thanks to Jon who opened up his house for us ( :

and as for me, I fell sick the next day and skipped church
today cos was feeling very weak.
with very bad flu and cough, I slept throughout the weekend,
and self medicate with leftover cough mixtures and panadol.

and it's the time of choosing modules again.

it's been a good weeek of catching up,celebrating bdaes,
family time and most of all, enjoying church camp ( :

phebe and I actually had post camp syndrome , lol,
cos when we woke up at 10am the next day after camp,
we were thinking aloud that ard that time,
we'll be listening to Rev Yong sharing msg.

then came our dinner time which was ard 7.30pm,
I was thinking to myself, that this would be the time
for thematic msgs which Rev Tang would be speaking..
oh man, we didn't know we got so used to church camp,
suddenly, when back to normal life, we really miss it !

had loads of family time this week too, mum brought
her 4 girls to Jurong Point for shoppping and everyone including
mummy Lim got something ( :
had haagen daz ice cream which we shareed and I intro dem
to my ALL TIME FAV- Tiramisu flavour .... yums!

as for the weekend, could not make it for sat's bible study
cos my dear melisssa kong is leaving for Denmark.
hope she learns a lot there and prob coming back,
speaking a mouthful of fluent Danish (:

and yesterday, had church and went out for lunch with Pris
and cousin Samuel cos my dear Pris wanted to look for
New Semester clothes. After which, we headed for carolling tog
at LEE AH MOI home, and seeing old folks being at the home,
esp those whose hands had to be tied at the bedstand,
it is a very pitiful sight. we sang carols, and gave out
gifts and those who could converse in dialect spoke to them
about the gospel.

alrighty, been back from church camp yest evening...
and I must say, I learnt so so so much.

I thanked God esp, cos I spent some time reflecting
on 1 John 2 after last sat's bible study and
finally understood what it means to Love The Lord .

and then came the camp which Rev Tang spoke abt his
thematic msgs which was about loving the Lord and
to honour Him by keeping his Commandments.
Qns which he said struck a chord withn me and
that is
" The Lord has given us his best (his only begotten son)
but have we given our best to the Lord ? "
Is the time we give Him, the times when we are most tired,
excuses aplenty when we are called to serve Him ?
"What is our report card for our service to the Lord ?"

MAny speakers likewise spoke on the book of Joshua,
where they espounded on and gave many insights into
the events that took place in the book of Joshua.
esp how sin , things which are good and yet we do not
are considered sin as well and when we sin, the one
that suffers the consequences may not be us but
it may fall on our loved ones or on
the 3rd and 4th generations.
and how obedience begats blessings
but disobedience begats cursings.

spent some time in the morning today,
revisiting all those points which i taken down
and truly, I must say, it's a very strong wake up call
for me and at the very least, I really hope,
my life story on earth will be pleasing to the Lord.

and on top of all that, the food was especially GOOOD !
think my ring got bigger =X
and I spent time swimming, bowling and wanted to play
squash initially but cousin in law didn't bring his racket.

and I'm missing camp already...
but really, thank God for everything,
esp pointing out to me the wrong deeds.thoughts and
how I really need God's grace to overcome them.
and most importantly, I am really glad to know
what it means to love the lord ( :

Thank God that exam was finally OVER on 30th NOV !!!!
I was actually happier counting down to my last paper than
on the actual day itself.
when last paper finally ended, wasn't as excited as I thot i would be.
well, and I rmb celebrating end of papers with rounds of TENNIS.

hence the fish and co glasshouse we went to, was decorated like

we got lx an ipod shuffle and a new urban male shirt for Will.

Came across a very meaningful and encouraging note that
was written by an elder in new life presbyterian church.

so wanna share a lil here ( :

it was about the Israelites who were delivered out of the land of Eygpt
and were praisng and glorifying God when HE parted the RED SEA and
they were amazed by the miracle which the Lord had shown.

however, shortly afterwards, they found no water and they started
to murmur against Moses and when they found water, it was even more
dreadful to realise the water was bitter.
then many of them started to waver in their faith, and they have
forgotten how the Lord who parted the RED SEA could have
been more sufficient to provide them with water.

Many a times, we may tend to complain the harsh realities of life
at the first hand of difficulties.
we maybe so consumed with the probs and tend to forget
tat we have an ALL sufficient Lord who has preserve and shown us
so many miracles and that HE would likewise see us thru these
difficulties if and only if we take them to the Lord in prayer.

we ought to give thanks even in the midst of trials
cos " ..... we glory in tribulations also, knowing that
tribulations worketh patience (Rom 5:3)

haven't written a single word yet, haven't read
the readings designated for this tutorial.
just finished 3/4 of lab report due on friday also,

well, after been sick for a few days, I realised
i have so many things to do. and yah know,
i sudd realised the night I vomitted,
i was actually examing bacteria that causes food posioning
in the noon during lab. so prob they got into my body
and hence resulted in the vomitting and diarrhea .
dangerous hurh.

went to lab on mon and yt was asking how come I look so pale.
frens mentioned that I lost weight too , prob caused by the
liquid /semi solid food which became my diet for the past few days.

I finally ate rice today,
I felt so thankful. lol.
it's not an exaggeration. I really felt this way,
so thankful ( :

and to those who showered so much concern, thank you all.
esp YT, who kept patting my head , sending me sms to check if
I got better , prayed for me ( :
i was so touched for these lil gestures!

test today was kinda hilarious actually,
for a moment, i felt like a Doctor. HAHA.
cos there a series of drug .medicine names for me
to write their functions etc.
felt like I was doing a diagnosis =P

and then there was a SUDDEN blackout 5 mins into the test.
so prof says can sleep/rest while we wait for the lights to come back on.
lol.
but everyone just cont with watever backup light available,
and cont to do the test cos it means extra time. so admist the
slight giggles, yuk lum even suspected someone did e blackout
on purpose to increase time for test. -.-
lol, wild imagination!

and while i was searching some stuff in the study room,
i found a book entiled " Great Women of the Bible ".
woah surprise finding cos I don't rmb this in my house.
haha.

It's been a very terrible weekend for me :(

friday night and the entire saturday were the worst
cos ard 4am sat morn, I woke up cos stomach was feeling
so uncomfortable.
kept tossing and turning , trying to sleep but couldn't.
and in the end, my worst fear came true- I vomitted !

the feeling was so bad, esp the horrid aftertaste in the mouth.
vomiited 4 times and stomach felt better so I went back to slp again.
then came sat morn, i couldn't even have energy to walk.
things got so bad, mummy rushed me to see doc.

took medicine and went back to sleep again.
woke up for lunch and slept again.
woke up for dinner and slept again.
ate meagre amts of food, had to force myself to eat
cos i lost so much fluid and got to replenish body with energy.

missed church on sun cos not recovered yet but was feeling much better.
at least I felt more energtic and awake.
but then came diarrhea, 6 times in 3 hours !!!
daddy cooked rice water for me to drink,
sister phebe encouraged me by saying
" hannah, free detox leh, at least u can lose weight now easily ! "

seriously, i wonder what went wrong with my stomach on fri night =/

It's day 3 of E learning weeek,
where NUS used this week to test out its
E learning platform in delivering online lectures
so as to pre-empt any flu outbreaks which may cause
a closure in schools.

so yes, I've been listening to lectures at home but
the thing is, for my 5 modules,
only ONE prof was diligent enuff to
get his this week lectures taped and put dem online.
The rest just simply upload lecture notes and
declared them as self-study.
LOL !
so much for testing the E learning platform =P

but the supposedly not a one week holiday E learning week
is much desired !
esp with regards to getting rest for e recovery of flu.
I think my flu bug is pretty Invincible,
it just wouldn't go away =/

Remb abt the prev prev entry I wrote about how
i cannot bring myself to disect animals esp s'thing by
tha name of RAT !

and I prayed for God to help me and a miracle actually happen !
well, for the FIRST TIME in this experiment,
the Profs and teaching asssitants disect the MOuse for us
and so by the time all of us reached the lab,
all we saw was just the MOUSE CELLS !!!!

the lil longish red thing hanging is the intestine from a guinea pig

when my teaching assitant told me abt it,
i seriously could not believe wat I heard.
cos she mentioned we sucha a fortunate batch,
first time having sucha treatment. LOL!
cos all the prev batches of students had to
literally cut the mouse up,
find the stomach and extract cells from there =/
except for my batch ( :

when my dear yilei heard abt this, her heart totally SANK.
cos she was so enthu , so lookin forward to disect animals.
LOL.
well, hopefully, for my next experiment,
there will be no more disection pretty pls.
I don't mind cutting frogs but pls,
No warm blooded animals for me.
i can't bear to disect them.

and so i prepared like loadsa pixels that will serve a
gd visual treat in the following entry.

there's like some things that i would like to post here
but shall do it one by one.
since esp it's the ONE WEEEEK BREAK next week ( :

i've been craving for this ever since sch started =P

yep, so this was what greeted us when we first entered CARAMEL.
wanted to take a pic of this cos thot it was prett cute but
ended up taking our reflection in it too, lols.

so homely, there's sofa, cushions and rainbow colour chairs n table.
and there's like only 6-7 tables in the entire cafe,
so it's very customised ( :

well, LOLs.
yah know, this lil one made me wear a Tiara on my 21st
and so i kindly return her the favour =P
heh, just that my Tiara for her is way BIGGGGGGGER :D

And so it was TEACHER's DAY yesterday.

my two tutees who are both bro and sis specially requested
to have tution just on that day so that we can celebrate tog.
lol.
and so they got me tons of prez and hand made written cards
with loads and loads of heart shapes and glitter.

well, and they reminded me abt the reward I promise them
if they do well and that is ---
to give them a lunch treat
at their fav fast food chain. HAHA.

and so tution ended 30 mins later due to party time, heh,
we had chips, lemon tea and open prez session coupled with
loads of giggles and laughter.

though they do get on my nerves sometimes,
but they are simply such sweethearts <3
and so now, i crack my brain to think of
how to celebrate the UPcoming CHildren's DAy
which they likewise look forward to celebrate it with me ( :

My galfrens used to say that I'm very M.A.C.H.O , lols,
cos I am not afraid of cockroaches and I kill the huge cockroach
for them when they were all so afraid.

but the thing is, if they saw what happened just now, just 15 mins ago,
they probably won't think I'm Macho anymore. lol.

the thing is I'm not afraid of things that most gals are afraid of
and I'm afaid of things that most gals are not afraid of.
lol.

So just awhile ago, when I was watching National DAY Rally Speech,
Judith let out a piercing scream.
I ran out of the room, only to realise 2 huge eyes staring back at me.

The CAT.
it squeeze thru the gaps between the gate and entered the hse.
my heart skipped a beat.
I totally froze in my position cos I'm really afraid of CATS.

The cat wanted to run towards me and I ran into my room, locked the door.
Eunice saw the commotion and the cat ran straight into the kitchen,
and hid itself near the washing machine.
I came out of the room, peeping
while Judith and Eunice went into the kitchen to try luring the car outta of the house.

They took daddy's socks and phebe's slippers to lure it by the nose
since they found the cat sniffing them.
I kept praying that the cat will get out of the house soon,
cos it's so stubborn.

while it finally made its way near the gate, it refused to leave and
kept hanging ard DADDY's FAV CORNER of the house - THE FISHTANKS !!!!
LOL.

then judith cleverly sprinkle water at it and it dashed out of the house.
cos my dear sis happily said " CATS are afraid of water wat "
We closed, latched, pad-locked the gate and door, heaving signs of relief.
till now, our hearts are still pounding super quickly.

Thank GOd !!
the cat is tame and it ain't the super fierce ones which stimes can be
found near my neighbourhood.
seriously, if i'm alone at home, i cannot imagine what i'm gonna do.
now i can totally understand how my galfrens felt when they saw cockroaches.

but I kinda like my bio modules this sem, cos though must rmb
medicine and drug names and their mechanisms etc,
learning them is so gonna be so useful ( :

on a side note, here's an interesting fact t share!
ALWAYS EAT FRUITS B4 MEALS !!!

that is the CORRECT way of getting all their vitamins.
though i still make the mistake of eating dem after meals =P

It's my LAST WEEK of holidays =(
oh man, it seems like only yesterday that I celebrated 29 April.
to think now is already 3 AUg.

By God's grace, I would be majoring in Bio-Medicine,
dealing with human immune system,diseases etc.
I like this field cos I like to use the knowldege and apply
them to everyday living, like offering help in
choosing the right kind of food for anyone whose not feeling well etc.
I like the human body esp, it's so interesting to see how God creates
such a complex system withn a single entity.

but this time round, there's a lab session of 6 hrs that
involves disection of LAB MOUSE.
=/
I have not done any major disection before ,
cos I mainly just disect organs like eyeball, heart etc.
but now, it's got to do with cutting up rats and
seeing what lies inside =/
err, but the thing is I am afraid of rats/mouse.
big, small, fat thin watever, they are equally =/ to me.

though best friend excitedly volunteered to help me cut the rat up,
and promise not to hold the dead rat by the tail to scare me, lol,
i am not sure if i am able to do it.

Besides that, I never like cutting up animals.
dunno y, i just dun have the heart to cut them up.
guess i have to deal with the prob when it comes along ........

anws, just to side track, here's some pictures which
were taken during my volunteer stint some few weeks back.
it was even shown on tv, lol, prob cause of the
overwhelming response and it's pretty large scale.
it's entitled ProJECT CAN,
each team combed abt 20 blocks collecting dried rations
and canned food for nursin homes and hospice.

This was the badge given to us ..
so cute !

Eunice and I started , knocking door to door.
first block which we combed was nt too bad.
our very first haul of the day !!

the food which the residents donated looked so gooood.
i was hoping i could bring home some.
okay, just kidding !

Then Jingyang and Yilei (in the backgrd) came and joined us shortly.
heh, we are taking a short break in the basketball court
after combing 5 blocks of flats.

AND FINALLY IT WAS THE LONG AWAITED LUNCH TIME.
and my team leaders kindly bought us drinks too.
20 mins of lunch time was all we had cos we still have
bout 10 blocks to cover.

EACh time our bags are filled up, we would bring dem to the
collection point and our team leadders will distribute them
accordingly based on canned/not canned, expired/not expired.

and yes, our superman pose cos our tee is actually a sign of
a heart shaped like a superman logo.
kudos to team A5.

i rmbed it was almost a whole day event from
8.30 am to 6.30 pm.
i nv walked so much in my 21 years before, lol.
though it was very very tiring but it was so much fun.
most imptly, the nursing homes got the benefits received from the public
so 3 cheers to that !!!

and I felt what it's written is very very true.

坦白= saying the truth/ honest
in a nutshell, it means being honest has a Time Limit.

Teaching this week has been lovely and demanding at the same time,
and there was one class which I taught entirely for the
whole of LAST week actually made me Hand-Made cards cos
they knew I would not be teaching dem this week as the teacher will b back.

Awwwww.
I was so surprised by this super sweet gesture of theirs,
esp at such a young age.
and they have been such wonderful pupils.
bought dem lil goodies on my last day with them,
and music lesson that day was Full of Gusto.
we sang our hearts out to the tune of NAtional Day Songs,
heh, cos national day is approaching.

Seems like a week of 2 from my lassssst entry.
pardon that, I have been busy with work ever since june hols end.

due to the h1n1 flu virus, teachersssssssss on M.C is a norm.
not just 1 or 2 days, but it stretches to almost a week.
so I have been covering their duties and teaching classes so
it requires time spent to plan lessons, look at scheme of work etc.
and that can be demanding at times.

and one thing that tickle my bone was some of
Phebe's colleagues who thought I was her YOUNGER sister ( :
heh, they were like in " HUH " mode when I told them
that I was the older sister.
Prob cos I wore specs and pull hair back in a ponytail
or either that is I really LOOK 19 !! HAHA.

Classes I taught this week include students with anger management prob.
So they will either Roll their eyes and stick their tongue out continously
when I told dem where they have gone wrong or they will cry and scream
at the slightest bit. one even use scissors and start shearing paper.
I was taken aback.
but I often held their little hands whenever they do that,
not sure why I did that too (instinct ?! ) but somehow,
it calms them down and the next min they are okay again.

Thank God my form class this week are the sweetest lot !
brought me a lot of joy and some of them even rmb me when
I taught them 2 years ago, when they were still in Pri 1.
awwwww.

butttt I've caught the cough and flu from school =/
Thank God, it isnt h1n1 but I have gotta teach in my sexy voice.
best friend thinks I have been falling ill too many times this year
and I wonder why too :(

MON
Stay home day with sisters. Just so qiao that all of us
were at home and so Phebe and I as usual cooked lunch for
the other 2.
Experiment-ed on Teriyaki Grilled Wings and Seafood MEE SUA.
kudos for the first try. wings were Finger Linking -good,
mee sua was just a tad too salty though.

wanted to ___________ after that but someone suggested not to.
heh, so went jogging for 40 mins and I felt so so good ( :

Tues
Met up with ENHUI =P for shopping in town
accompanied by DIM SUM at fortunATE restaurant.
Great buys at far east.
I finally found the heels which I saw a colleague of mine wore
some 3 months ago. HAHA. and it was on SALE ( :
Enhui bought jeans at a steal too.

dim sum was very FILLING and at a good bargain.
At only $1,99 per plate, we ate like 10 plates.
chatted , listened etc
and we found out we were both facing the same situation.
glad that someone understoood how I felt exactly ( :
and yes, I still had dinner when I reached home
while I believed Enhui probably didn't.

Wed
COUSINS LIM meet up at Sheryl's home.
chester cooked CHAWANMUSHI for us and Auntie Siok HUA
whipped a delicious dinner which caused us to eat more than usual.
it was sucha nice time spent with cousins.

Thurs
Gave tuition and bought a present for dear KAi XIn.
she's gotten Third in Class ( :

Today
Met up with Charlene dear for dessert and dinner in town.
She's gg for NOC exchange prog to Shanghai for a year on July 12th.
Toook pictures which will be uploaded soon and hearing her
mentioning abt her plans, dreams makes me feel ordinary.
dunno if ordinary is the right word to describe how I felt
but I felt that we were so different in what we want to pursue in life.

I'm probably simpler/lazier , heh,
so a simple life will do just fine for me.
But maybe I shld move out of Comfort Zone and consider exchange prog
in order to widen my horizon and to be more independent.

Do you have a fav time of the day?

I do ( :
and that's when night falls.

I like sitting at my fav corner in my house
when night falls, hoping to catch a glimpse of a star or two.
I like walking home from the mrt when night falls, though it's dark,
but the feeling of walking on long roads that nv seem to end,
accompanied by the cool night breeze seem to
portray a sense of timeless-ness.

I nv knew to appreciate darkness until I studied a module on
Astronomy, how darkness is the pre-requistie for excellent star-gazing.
When darkness envelopes and shrouds the entire sky,
lo and behold,
everything hanging on the sky reveals themselves so clearly.
It's hard to believe that they are hanging
on the same morning sky too,
just that the sunlight is too powerful for them to be seen.

Not being able to see it does not mean it's not there.

Pastor Michael B said the same above mentioned sentence too
in one of the msgs during BIble Conference for this week.

Not being able to see God does not mean HE is not around,
just like not being able to see the stars in the morning
does not mean they are not there.
It takes that absolute step of faith to believe and thus,
blessed are they who have not seen and yet believe ( :

Currently waiting for Youth retreat photos to be uploaded on facebook.
Youth retreat was held last sat as mentioned and thank God for
preserving everyone esp the players.

yah know, cos the sun with its swelthering heat mercilessly
beating down on their backs during the 2 hrs treasure hunt,
and they walked and run for what seemed like eternity,
I was so worried for them.
as a games station master, I had the privilege of sitting
down, stoning whilst waiting for them to look for me.
seeing them sweating and running under the blaring heat of the sun
and ended up with blisters , so ke lian.

but it was a very heart-warming sight though.
cos each group displayed tremendous team spirit,
waiting for everyone, not giving up despite blistered feet
and fatigue and enjoying themselves to finish the game,
super PROUD of dem ( :

oh and i have to mention that Aaron was very kind.
very sweet of him in fact cos I saw him offering slippers
to sook kwin who has blistered feet and thus could not walk
properly in her shoes that she was wearing.
sook was so touched by his kind gesture. me too.

spent time with some of the chi side gals too,
chatting etc. most importantly, hope the msgs preached
will be etched deeply in them, remembering that each day
is a miracle and there is so much we can give thanks for,
where we have a God, who is true and Living.

discouraged. disheartened. disillusioned.
So I prayed for God's wisdom to be able to encourage them ,
to be a good listening ear and to show support.

i know how impt it is to have someone listening,
someone just being there.

I had such a lovely time spent with the ladies.
it was ONE of the BEST outing ever ! ( :
It was a SURPRISE 21st BDAE PICNIC at the botanica gardens
just for our very dear SIJIA.
and our PICNIC seriously became like PIG-NIC.
HAHA.
judging by the amt of food we brought.

Si Jia knew nothing abt it cos we intentionally set the date
slightly earlier than her actual birthdate.
no suspicion was involved so the entire plan was successful
despite some hiccups.

HICCUP 1 - It was raining so heavily in the morning n noon,
but thank GOD the clouds cleared by ard 3pm.

so here we are at Singapore BOtanica Gardens.
without chern fern and Sijia.
haha, we made up all sorts of excuses to prevent SJ
from tagging along with us cos we were gg there earlier
to set up the surprise first.
Sj was to meet us later and
chern fern was in charge of accompanying SJ,
making sure she delayed her just in case we weren't ready yet.

lee xian is like so super comical.
she tagged our names all around the swans,
cos she said in the caption

and yah know, we were so caught up with the scenic view
for a moment, we forgot that we are supposed to do up the place.
hurriedly looked for maps and tried to figure out directions to

the desired place - The Bandstand.

we walked in circles and my worst fear came true.
Chern Fern called and said that both she and Sijia
had reached Botanica GArdens.

PANIC !!!
So, we made chern fern bring Sijia along long strolls etc
just so to stall time.
and you knw what.
when faced with such intense stress,
we actually managed to find the desired place in 5 mins time.
lol.
stress is good sometimes.

Sunday was well spent at church and FSC.
learnt a lot from VPI, abt church's creed, belief
and things abt Sola Scriptura.
these was followed by Youth retreat Comm meeting

It's the fellowship and time to be spend with GOD

Headed to bugis with loved ones for some
authentic CHeena dessert some time last week ( :
We went to the highly recommended " AH CHEW's DESSERT "
while waiting for MS KOo YUK LUM who is forever so busy.

WE had steamed milk egg dessert, ginger steamed egg dessert,
my fav ALoe Vera plus Black Gluthinous for all 3 of us.
SLURRRRP.
I wanted Tang Yuan but sadly the chef said tang yuan wld only be ready
in an hour's time so there goes my craving .

once again (and again and again), we bought the same dress.
but it's of different colour this time.

saw it at a sale and we both liked it.
it's of very unique design and for the very first time,

then after much waiting, MS KOO FINALLY HAPPILY APPEARED.
no pictures of her though, lol cos by the time she came,
it was already DUSK.
had late dinner at the ever yummy beefball noodles at Liang Seah Street
before heading off to Bugis Street for last minute look aound before
the stalls closed.

JY and Yilei are both startin work next Mon at Orchard Mango.
YUp, they are hired to help out for the GREAT SIngaPore sales period esp weekends.
I'll prob drop by sometime next week for a visit too.
afterall, MAngo's a nice place to look for during sales.

Anw, results for NUS came out last weekend.
and I did badly.
Prob the worst one ever since I stepped into Uni.
but still I thanked God for enabling me to pass Chi Linguistics.
2 more years to go in UNI though.

grrrrr !
LOL.

It was an astronomy trip organsied by the Astro club in NUS.
so Yilei, Jy and I signed up for it.
we get to see underwater in the day and stars at night.
wat more to say No?
and guess who I met on the trip?

CARMEN !!!!

First day was to reach orchard at 6.15am.
and we sat on a 3 hrs bus ride plus a 2hrs boat ride to tioman.

Lunch with the bunch of peeps.

heheh. errr... I brought these along with me.
LOL.

The sky for the first night was too cloudy for star-gazing
so it was cancelled.
We had supper and watched discovery channel instead.

The following nights though was star-gazing after star-gazing.
simply Amazing.
I saw many constellations like Libra, Leo and the Southern Cross.
the southern cross is used to tell the direction of South and
I saw the Jewel Box using the telescope.
It's a cluster of stars that are of such bright colours,
thus the name Jewels.

Stars stood so huge and bright on the skies of Tioman,
they looked very fake.
HAHA, in a sense, it as though someone placed them up there.
It was too huge, too bright to believe these are the same stars
that are hanging in the skies of Singapore as well.

Tat was where we stayed ( :

We went snorkelling from 9am to 3pm on DAY 2.

paid ard RM78 for both equippment and boat rides to 5 islands.

I couldn believe my eyes when I saw what was in front of me.
The water was crystal clear and the fishes that were all around us were
of so many different colours.
WAW.

This is the second island that we went.

The first island that we went to snorkel were a lot deeper and

many colourful fishes were seen. Some of striking yellow, red and purple.

The whole sea floor was covered by the coral reefs.

However, some parts looked meancing.

cos the shape of the coral reefs looked like distorted fingers

and many sea urchins filled the entire floor too.

their long spikes with their silver white eyes stared at us.

and yilei even saw a giant black fish that was as big as one reef !

They looked aggressive when bread was thrown to them

The bread was snapped up withn seconds.

poor jingyang who had her fingers bitten by these hungry fishes.

Just check out the water level.

It's really very shallow and if u notice the waters carefully,

u can see the many colourful fishes swimming around us.

I think this is the third island we went to snorkel.

We went to snorkel at 5 different islands.

snorkelling is very energy sapping , by the time we reached the 3rd,

we were already panting. HAHA.

but we threw aside watever fatigue and just dived straight into the

clear turquoise waters for more snorkelling ( :

I really wanna try white water rafting !

tat was one of my fav spots.

I love sitting there, legs hanging in mid air,

watching the fishes swimming past.

Jingyang went trekking while Yilei, SAlly, June and I went for

A Picnic and KITE-FLYING at the beach ( :

tat was the long tail of our kite.

Then in the noon, a bunch of us took a big boat out to sea

and off we went FISHING from 2-6pm !!!!

I was so excited.

It was my very first time ( :

So here's my dear Yilei and I fishing with one of the more prmitive methods.

fishing with the reel line itself only and so

we were waiting, waiting and more waiting.

and and and then, YILEI felt a thug and she caught a cat-fish.

errr... i caught errr... nothing =/

heh but it's okay.

it was fun learning how to fish the primitive waay.

fishing is really nice !

though many may think that the waiting part is boring but

I find the waiting process more exciting than boring ( :

The fisherman came and snipped off the stings from the cat-fish.

cos the stings were known to be poisonous.

I felt sorta giddy after 2 hrs plus on the boat.

The waves were so choppy, things on the seat flung

from one end to the another.
What an experience!

After 4 wholesome hours of fishing, we went to the beach to see SUNSET !

After the sunset, we set down at the jetty,
and began blowing bubbles.

so yep, the rainbow colours that were

seen in this picture are BUBBLES.
romantic yes, blowing bubbles towards the sea.

probably they are just not used to it.
mummy prefers me looking like that though,
she says i looked very sporty in darker skin tone.

Yilei and I refused to be captured cos we both
seriously felt super shagged.
CUI wld prob the best word to describe the both of us.

I rmb sleeping thru out the 2 hrs plus boat ride
and sleeping thru the 3 hrs plus bus ride on the way back Spore.

In a nutshell, it was an AWESOME trip.
with such scenic day and night view
coupled with the right company,
what more can i ask for ( :

Hello all !!

It's been a very enjoyable yet tiring week for me.
Started working for the entire week,
cos it was Mid Year Exams , so had to hand out exam papers
and saying the famous phrase " YOU MAY BEGIN " .

more often than not, when I was a student,
I always hope that I am the teacher, instead of the stud taking exam.
but seriously, when this wish of mine was fufilled just this week,
it fell way short of my expectations.

watching over kids taking exam is boring.
to the max.
You cant do anything, stone for 1.5-2 hrs.
so i walked around in class, but cos of the sound of high heels,
I sat on the teacher's chair most of the time.
However, there is no fan above the teacher's table,
and the sun's swelthering heat these days
can be so unbearing at times.
for a moment , I wished I was the one taking exams.

Other than that,
waking up to 6am cold mornings became customary,
and I enjoyed the cool morning breeze that accompanied me to school.
Oh and I realised one thing.

I nv knew how ~~Identical~~ Similar Phebe and I were,
until we started teaching.
Cos she worked till march and I took over from May,
and so many teachers thot I was Phebe.
Classes which Phebe used to teach also asked if I was Ms Phebe Lim.
Hahaha, what a look-alike.

Oh yes, tis will prob be my last post for this week.
I will be going with Yilei and Jingyang
plus 28 other Nus peeps to Tioman tml.
Gotta reach orchard at 6.15am tml morning !!!
It's a yearly trip organised by Astronomy Club
and if u guys rmb, I went with Yilei last year to Tinggi Island.

cant wait to see how the galaxy changes over the course of the night.
and snorkelling with the corals, nemo and dory.

Church-ED on sunday before meeting up the lovelies at raffles place.
and I rmb-ed upon entering church premise,
I was " welcomed " with the word PRINCESS.

haha, and i wasnt late. i was on the dot. 10.20am somemore.
and someone even called me "princess gardenia" .

kay,back to more serious stuff, I learnt one very impt thing
from sis bee yen's sharing.
that many a times, we often want God to function according
to our expectations, according to what we want.
and thus often forgot that we ought to pray for grace and discernment
to abide and do everything according to HIS own will.
That thy will be done, not mine.

After which, I met up with galfrens then for for for
HAN LO's 21st :D
We went to a place that sells very authentic ramen,
where it is often frequented by the Japanese themselves.
I cant rmb what it's called, start with the letter K.
haha, the name is simply too long for my memory space.

i'm glad she likes the card I made for her.
she was smiling so very sweetly when she saw it.

cam-whored whilst waiting for the ramen to be served.
we waited for a very long time.

Yep, I attended Elizabeth's 21st last sat at
SAF Changi Chalet. whoaaaa, the place is so pretty.
The chalet had the serene sea as its backdrop and

purple painted walls and curtains for the rooms.
sucha homely feeling!
and of cos, not to forget the bdae girl stood radiantly,
welcoming and thanking everyone.

the foood was really good, with an array of different varieties
and I will nv forget the pictures we took
at the beach in the late evening, haha..

overloooking the sea and guess what I saw?

seeing them like that, hearing their laughters,
they looked like lil boys.
heh.
at the same time, it was a very very sweet sight
cos most of them knew each other since young.
a whole 50 plus years of friendship.
and I seriously hope that I will too,
have sucha strong friendship with pple close to my heart.

and before I forget, I attended another 21st just yest.
but it wasnt a party or anything big.
it was a simple and very sweet lunch org
by us just for our dearest hanlo.

and believe it or not,
there's another upcoming 21st bdae chalet celebration
this coming friday.

and yest was MOTHER'S DAY ( :
church service was completed with 2nd service tradition
of cutting of cake and this year, there's presentation of
3 gifts to each Mum.

heh, we got her Loreal Paris Revitalift.

oh yes, work starts offically for me tml.
for a good whole week, I gotta wake up at 6am,
teaching lil kids in my pri sch.
and then, I'll be in TIOMAN for the whole of next week.

I have been loving this couple of days, heh.
yah know, spending time at home and catchin up on
HOBBIES/FAV PASTIMES is sucha Delight :D

woke up today, feeling lazy.
heh.
broke into a smile as I basked on the thot of
it's Day 1 of my 100 days of holidays.

no more waking up, checking thru my organizer of
things to be done, things left undone etc.
no more scratching of head, no more late nights

i supposed that is how RELIEF is to be felt.

flipped thru my diary and seeing how fully packed my
30 days in the month of April were, all the doodles that I drew,
for a moment, i really cant believe it's OVER.

been Over-Stretched for more than a month is =/
But there is so much to thank God for.
HE in HIS perfect timing, brought me help-lines along the way,
in the form of Gordon, JAke, Yilian, Rachel etc.
stimes when I stared at my com, not knowing what to write for my report,
timely help came along the way.

times where I felt discouraged cos there is just too much to complete,
smses and phone calls somehow came streaming thru.
though they always say they call to disturb me, haha,
I knew their kind intention of showing concern ( :

I have never felt so over stretched before.

it's not that I cried,
but it's becos I am really very worn out.

to learn to COMMIT EVERYTHING unto Him.

Just do our part, and leave everything in HIs Hands.
I pray that I will learn to TRUST in HIM completely and
for those who are coping with demands of school,
muz keep in mind that the time spent with GOd must not be
shortchanged juz cos of heavy workload.

I realised it's been quite some time since

snapped up a lot of my free time, and I guessed the toil

It was the last baptism class with Eli, Andrew and Joan.
Asked Rev tang a lot of qn and thank God that
we really learnt a lot from the baptism classes : )
how to pray, how to commit unto the lord, how to witness etc.

and it's prep for testimony to be spoken on tt day.
hmmm...

and we often have lunch aft that so I enjoyed
the short time spent with dem as well :D

Prisc and I had out turn of doing up of our hair
by our dear Ibu (teachers).

that blob of hair was put onto prisc hair to give
the extra volume.

the teachers made us took super deep breaths in and
fasten our costume really tight.

Rmb I used to say I never(!!) like my Wednesdays
cos it's the most gruelling day of the week.
coupling it with 8 hrs of FASTing probably makes it worse.

and so we treated ourselves just last wed to a nice meal.
somewhere very near sch, read HOLLAND VILLAGE : )

ate at BREEKO aft rounds( and rounds) of decision making.
lol.
too many eateries and nice cafes there.
We were too hungry so there wasnt any pics of food.
but the food was good.
FISH AND CHIPS was ENAK SEKALI. BAGUS.
I had been craving for that meal ever since Straits Times
advertised a WHOLE page of fish n chips just 3 weeks ago.
heh.

best of all, Prices were affortable (ard $13)
and the serving was enough to make me happpppppy. heh.
dessert was even better .
Imagine oreo cheesecake topped with mocha powdered vanilla ice cream.
we were on budget so we shared one slice :D

Just came back from seeing the doctor.
He said my chest and lungs are very congested,
and he called this kinda cough " Sensitive Cough".

He said my symptoms are very similar to ASthma
and he asked me 3 times whether I had asthma before.
No cold drinks for the time being so that means
I cannot have my fav orange juice every morning.
He barred me from jogging/excerising cos he said
the air nowadays are pretty bad due to haze.

Cough's kinda serious, stimes can cough till there's tears in e eyes.
Praying that everything ends well sooon.

I lost my voice gradually ard 7.05 pm yest nite,
incessant cough followed therefter.

I wanted to see doctor but daddy preferred me not to.
So he's boiling some ginger honey drink for me now,
he said it's good for the throat ( :

but I guess this time, really need antibiotics.
shall see how tml.

oh wells, what a way of "celebrating" the start
of my one week break.

Updates for the week !!

MON

woke up feeling horrible.feverish and body ache.
Tahan tutorials all the way till 8pm.
it's tutorials so cannot pon/skip.
and I'm really very thankful for the panadol from Ethan (:

Went sch slightly earlier , waited outside Yinting's lab for her.
She was so surprised to see me.

gave her cookies and of cos, we chatted for bout 30 secs
before rushing off for our diff tutorials.
She's a christian and her church is pretty near to mine.
though we rarely meet in sch cos lessons clash,
we often cherish the lil moments we have with one another.
keeping one another in prayers too ( :

Auntie Mary shared this during thanksgiving choir prac on sat.

Dunno why but this particular phrase struck a chord withn me.
It kept recurring in my mind somehow or rather,
and so I spend some time pondering.

That whatever is present, the Lord can take it away.
Prob many of which I may have taken for granted like
even being able to see, being able to hear, being able to walk.
and for which I should be very thankful for.

It reminded me to count my blessings one by one
and to learn to give thanks for the simplest yet very impt things in life.

haha, okay I had my first lesson yest and it was really cool.
hopefully, after a few lessons, I will be able to converse
in basic malay/indo :D

Updates.

This year CNY was really very different for me.
Most of the time, I am in school though I did
spend some time visting relatives for a short while.
Not that I'm bogged down by lessons,
it's due to Science Productions.

The 2 hr play was held during CNY week,
so for this past CNY week , I had to be down in sch for prep work.

And prep work resulted in all of us returning home
very late, latest was 12.30am.
and we had to reach sch very early too,
earliest was 5.30am wake up time.

We were pretty stretched out and
there were both happy and not so happy experiences.
The RIGHT attitude really counts.

but oh wells,
prob cause many were pretty stressed over the productions
so I guess everyone just need to be more understanding yes.
Thank God that everything turn out very well :D

and yes once again, I learnt a lot.
Learnt it from both " soft and hard " ways.
Thank God.

School has just started for bout 2 weeks.
Pace gettin faster, and seriously, I dread Wednesdays.

It means entering sch when it's all bright n sunny
and by the time I stepped out of sch, it's already ALL DARK.
8 HOURS of NOn-STOp Lecture followed by LAB work is O.O

I was so Exhuasted n Famished,
I was practically closing my eyes as I walked back home.
And that wednesday, something really very embarrassing happened.
seriously, "how could anyone be so blur n silly " ??

Thank God, prof was reallly very nice.

Oh wells, i'm learning 2 languages this sem.
One is understanding the nature of Chi Lang.
Lol.
It's more of appreciating the Chi Lang,
the understanding of how certain phrases/words can or cant be used.

Next up is learning BAHASA INDONESIA.
aha, and Prisc Low is my classmate from 6-8pm Every MOn :D
We promised to converse in Indonesian Lang from now on !

Spent time at home today and so
Daddy, Mummy and I combined forces and did Spring Cleaning.
Cleared every hook and cranny of the house (half more to go!)
and super big sense of SATISFACTION felt.
I liked doing housework tog as a family,
i think it's a great activity for family bonding, heh.

And yes, we made a corner in our living room
for daddy's new found love.

I rmb the nite before our expedition to Chinatown,
I was busy memorising all the road directions to
the nice foodie places in Chinatown.
and yea, lesson was given none other by mummy.
She's an expert in Chinatown, you see.

First stop was to locate the ALL TIME FAVOURITE EGG TARTS
by TONG HENG CONFECTIONARY.
I was regurgitating to Eunice whatever mummy said.
Sthing about over the bridge, see a pathway, walk straight, turn left etc.
In the end, we just asked pple for directions.

Verdict of egg tarts : A MUST TRY !!!
everyone in front of us were buying like at least a dozen,
but we ordered only Three.
Auntie was shocked ??

Then we decided to just follow our instinct and just explore.
I rmb telling her if only we could find where Maxwell food centre is
cos it serves super nice food there.

And before I could finish my sentence,
We both got a shock !!
Maxwell Food Centre sudd appeared in front of us !!

Wish granted :D

Ordered our fav CLAYPOT FROG and
the very famous porridge that is being sold in Maxwell Food Centre.

hahah, and I nv realised I have such long hands.

This place is really full of surprises.
We found many exquisite boutique shops that sell really lovely stuff.
and of cos, the price is very lovely too.

Found SCARLETT HOTEL.
I rmb geog prof was telling us all abt it during tourism lecture last Sem.
As its name suggests, everything inside was RED.
Eunice was so excited over her fav colour, I predict this year
someone's 21st will be held there.

Spent almost a whole day there but we only combed like 1/4 of it.
yes, I love exploring cos u nv know what u will find.

Yest nite was scary.

I was lying on bed, suddenly, felt a very sharp pain on my chest.
Tried to get up, but the pain became more intense.
My hands felt very cold then,
and each breath I took, was painful =[

Took small, short breaths instead.
I prayed and went back to sleep.

Thank God,I woke up today feeling alright.
I could not understand what happened yest nite,
but fear really gripped me then.

Xiao Lee started a group in facebook to locate all our
long lost pri sch classmates.
So sweet of her :D

hmmm, try locating me?
Hint : I'm one of the Shortest girls in my pri sch class.

Located some of them thru facebook and woah,
they really changed ALOT !!!
I almost could not recognise some.

Felt nostalgic upon seeing those pics,
so I went searching for pri sch yearbook.
Flipping thru the pages, I cant help but smile
at the moments we all once shared as a class.
It's been 8 9 years since I left pri sch.

SOme interesting facts abt my Pri 6 class.

1. Huan Zhu Ge Ge was the CRAZE then in year 2000.
So the whole class named oursleves after a character in the show.
I think I was Ziwei Ge Ge. LOL.

2.We often went over to Mrs Lee's place for
PSLE revision cum guitar singing session cum pizza dinner.

3.The girls and boys can never mix well.
HAHA, it was always " Eeeeeee " when one girl sat with one boy.

4.Our class is the only class that has a classroom with Air-Con.
We had no idea why also, maybe cos we're in the container block.

5.The boys love scaring/teasing the girls.
They have 101 tricks on "how-to-scare-the-girls-in-your-class"

New Year Resolutions for this year 09 ??
Seriously, I dont have a habit of writing down resolutions.
maybe I will try having The Day's Resolution instead.

I did however, recapped/recalled about year 2008 by
looking thru my white diary I kept.
Realised that whatever I wrote for one week,
could change drastically the next week.
Just that I nv knew it could happen this way or that.

But I take comfort and learn to trust in the Lord
for no matter what it (roses/thorns) may befall,

some quick updates.

25 DEC
CHRISTMAS !

In the end, I woke up feeling very weak n feverish.
Msged Uncle Hs that I cant sing for choir during christmas service =/
Many said that choir sang very well tt day.
Thank GOd :D
and then spend e rest of christmas day sleeping/resting.

26 DEC (boxing day!)

woke up ard 6am for KL trip.
Everyone was so worried tt I wont be able to go
but thank God the fever subsided.
went with my family, Ah yee and her family plus Cousin Sheena and family.
stayed at Berjaya Times Sq Hotel.

Very lovely place.
Imagine floors 1-13 is a
SHOPPING CENTRE CUM THEME PARK.
then floors 14-40 are the hotel rooms.
really shopping paradise. lol.

Hmm...
The last time I went KL was like NINE years ago,
when I was 11.

We went KL chinatown (Chee Cheong GAi) in the evening.
Something like Bugis Street in Sg.
Very very crowded.
Phebe was the ultimate BArgainer.
she's good , I tell you.
I tried to bargain, but failed... miserably.
ate one of the best claypot rice there :D

27 dec (SAT)

started to cough more freq.
I guess cos it was whole day out yest so body cant take it.
We went KLCC ( KL twin towers)
Another mega shopping mall.
mayb cos wasnt feelin too good so just accompanied sisters.
eunice sis bought quite a lot of stuff.
she was like grinning the whole day, lol.

dinner was cheap and v v good.
i was persuaded to drink a lot of tea.
some oolong jasmine tea ( very very very bitter) , chrysanthemum tea,
chinese tea, green tea, lipton tea, lemon tea.
I drank all tat -.-

28 dec (SUN)

Church- ED.
daddy was preaching tat day.
he spoke on "Good Christian Testimony",
sthing which spoke to us tat day.
that "Testimony" can bring
others To Christ or Away from Christ.
So as Christians, we have a responsibililty not to
stumble others and to live a life such tt others will
want to know our God.

I like the new KL church premise.
my "Da Bao" (1 yr old Sherzyn) called " Ah Yee" for the first time.
and so I was also grinning the whole day tat day.

AMPANG YONG TAU FU for lunch.
Mummy's wish granted so
she was also grinning the whole day that day.

WEht to another mega mall aft lunch.
Middle Valley.
NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST CENTRE Courts.
BIG to the MAX.

29 dec ( MOn)

The whole Jing gang went theme park except me.
I was feelin very weak, drowsy so I
finally signal WHITE FLAG.
stayed in the hotel to rest.

few hrs later, they all came back,
looking PALE-ER than me.
Mummy and Ah Yee threw up,
Phebe was feeling dizzy,
Samuel and Judith felt like puking.

I guess the rides were really topsy-turvy,
but they were back to normal aft a while.
they even wanted to sit those rides again.

I left a note saying "thank you" in MAlay for the hotel staff.
they were really nice.

Christmas Eve :D
but it's coupled with body aches, fever and the famous lim cough.

both phebe er mei and I are both down with very bad cough.
I had fever while phebe is suffering from eye infection.
so she's giving christmas service a miss tml.

it a terrible feeling, really,
where my body feels all hot and yet, I feel all cold inside.
=/
and watever energy that is left is spent on coughing.
so I haven been sleeping well for the past few nights.
i'm longing/wishing for a good night sleep.

hopefully can get well soooon by God's grace n Panadol.
cos there's christmas choir performance tml
and I'll be leaving with family to MSia from 26th-29th.

on a brighter note, finally post Rach's card over
from S'pore to China.
hopefully, the parcel can reach safely to her.
